सामाजिक सञ्जालमा हाल “ईस्ट इन्डिया कम्पनीले भारतमा 200 वर्ष शासन गर्यो, अब नेपालमा Barbar Foundation ले कति वर्ष शासन गर्छ?” भन्ने किसिमका दाबीहरू तीव्र रूपमा फैलिरहेका छन्। तर विज्ञ र सम्बद्ध निकायहरूले यी दाबीमा आधार भयको बताउने गरेका छन्।
संवैधानिक विशेषज्ञका अनुसार नेपाल सार्वभौम, लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्र हो र शासनसत्ता निर्वाचनमार्फत बनेको सरकारमार्फत मात्र सञ्चालन हुन्छ। निजी फाउन्डेशन वा संस्थालाई देश चलाउने अधिकार कुनै कानुनी प्रावधान छैन।
“यस्ता दाबीले चिन्ता र भय सिर्जना गर्छ,” एक सरोकारवालाले भने, “नेपालमा नीति-निर्माण संसद्, सरकार र न्यायालयको संवैधानिक प्रक्रियामार्फत हुन्छ—कुनै फाउन्डेशनले ‘शासन’ गर्न मिल्दहिन।”
