अमेरिकामा दीर्घ रोग र स्नायु–व्यवहार सम्बन्धी समस्याहरू घटाउने प्रयास अन्तर्गत कृत्रिम पेट्रोलियम–आधारित रङ्ग हटाउने काम सुरु भएको छ।
क्यालिफोर्नियाको अग्रसरता:
क्यालिफोर्नियाले 2023 मा Red Dye No. 3 प्रतिबन्ध लगायो र 2024 मा विद्यालयको खाना तथा पेयमा प्रयोग हुने अरू 6 वटा रङ्ग प्रतिबन्ध गर्यो। त्यसपछि 25 राज्यले त्यही बाटो अनुसरण गरेका छन्।
FDA को भूमिका:
FDA ले उद्योगसँग मिलेर यस्ता कृत्रिम रङ्गलाई चरणबद्ध रूपमा हटाउने योजना सार्वजनिक गरेको छ।
नयाँ अध्ययनका निष्कर्ष:
रङ्ग प्रयोग भएका खाद्य र पेयमा रङ्ग नभएका भन्दा औसत 141% बढी चिनी भेटियो।
तर सोडियम र saturated fat केही कम थियो।
यसले देखाउँछ कि रङ्ग भएको खाना प्रायः कम स्वास्थ्यकर हुन्छ।
उच्च जोखिम भएका खानेकुरा:
स्पोर्ट्स ड्रिङ्क्स (७९%),
बेभरेज कन्सन्ट्रेट्स (७१%),
कन्फेक्सनरी/मिठाई (५४%) मा सबैभन्दा बढी रङ्ग प्रयोग भएको पाइएको छ।
अल्ट्राप्रोसेस्ड फुड्स (UPF):
अमेरिकी खाद्य आपूर्तिको ७०% हिस्सा बनाउँछ।
कम फाइबर, धेरै क्यालोरी, चिनी, सोडियम, र कृत्रिम additive हुन्छ।
अध्ययनहरूले यसलाई मधुमेह, मुटु रोग, क्यान्सर, मोटोपना, डिप्रेशन, स्ट्रोक, निद्रासम्बन्धी समस्या आदि रोगसँग जोडेको छ।
विशेषज्ञहरूको सुझाव:
रङ्ग हटाउँदा मात्रै खाना स्वास्थ्यकर हुँदैन।
सम्भव भएसम्म whole foods (फलफूल, तरकारी, अन्न, गेडागुडी, दाल, बीउ, बदाम) रोज्नु,
प्रसंस्कृत खाना कम गर्नु,
लेबल पढेर मात्र किनमेल गर्नु।
उद्योगका कदमहरू:
Kraft Heinz, Nestle लगायतका कम्पनीहरूले आगामी वर्षहरूमा कृत्रिम रङ्ग हटाउने घोषणा गरेका छन्।
टेक्सासले ४४ प्रकारका additive भएको खाना वा पेयमा लेबल अनिवार्य गर्ने कानुन बनाएको छ।
