घानाका गणितविद् डा. एन्जेला टाबिरी, जसलाई “Maths Queen” को नामले चिनिन्छ, अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय प्रतियोगिता The Big Internet Math Off जित्ने पहिलो अफ्रिकी महिला बनेकी छन्। ३५ वर्षीया डा. टाबिरीले सुरुमा गणित पढ्ने योजना नगरेकी थिइन्, तर अहिले उनले यो ठूलो उपलब्धि हासिल गरेकी छन्। उनले आफ्नो जितले अफ्रिकी महिलालाई गणिततर्फ आकर्षित गर्ने आशा व्यक्त गरेकी छन्, जहाँ परम्परागत रूपमा महिला विद्यार्थीहरूलाई यस विषय पढ्न हतोत्साहित गरिन्छ।यो प्रतियोगितामा विश्वभरका १६ गणितज्ञले “सबैभन्दा रोचक गणितज्ञ” बन्न प्रतिस्पर्धा गरेका थिए। प्रतियोगिता The Aperiodical ब्लगले २०१८ देखि सार्वजनिक मतदानमार्फत आयोजना गर्दै आएको छ।डा. टाबिरीको विशेषज्ञता Quantum Algebra मा छ। उनी अफ्रिकी गणित विज्ञान संस्थान (AIMS) घानामा अनुसन्धानरत छन् र Girls in Mathematical Sciences Programme की शैक्षिक प्रमुख पनि हुन्, जसले माध्यमिक विद्यालयका केटीहरूलाई गणिततर्फ ल्याउने लक्ष्य राख्छ।अशाईमनमा हुर्केकी डा. टाबिरी पाँच बहिनीमध्येकी एक हुन्। सुरुमा व्यवसाय प्रशासन पढ्न चाहेकी उनले गुण अंकका कारण गणित–अर्थशास्त्र रोजिन्। पछि २०१५ मा ग्लास्गो विश्वविद्यालयमा पीएचडी गर्न छात्रवृत्ति पाएकी उनी Hidden Figures फिल्मबाट प्रेरित भएकी थिइन्।२०२४ मा घानाले अर्को ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि पनि हासिल गर्‍यो — डा. ग्लोरिया बोट्चवे देशकै पहिलो महिला भइन् जसले गणितमा पीएचडी गरेकी छन्।डा. टाबिरी अहिले FemAfricMaths मार्फत कम अवसर भएका अफ्रिकी केटीहरूलाई गणित पढ्न प्रेरित गर्दैछिन्। सामाजिक सञ्जालमार्फत उनी विश्वभरका महिला गणितज्ञहरूसँग अन्तर्वार्ता पनि गर्दैछिन्।उनको अर्को ठूलो सपना Quantum Science को क्षेत्रमा योगदान गर्नु हो। घानाले २०२५ लाई UN International Year of Quantum Science and Technology घोषणा गर्ने प्रस्ताव अघि सारेको छ। क्वान्टम प्रविधिले औषधि, वातावरण, खाद्य उत्पादन र साइबर–सुरक्षामा ठूलो क्रान्ति ल्याउने अपेक्षा गरिएको छ। त्यसैले डा. टाबिरीले Quantum Road Show र Quantum Hackathon आयोजना गर्दै विद्यालयदेखि स्नातकोत्तर विद्यार्थीलाई सहभागी गराउने योजना बनाएकी छन्।
