संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभाको छेउछाउमा अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्पले पहिलोपटक युक्रेनले सन् २०१४ पछि रुसले कब्जा गरेका सम्पूर्ण भूभाग फिर्ता लिन सक्ने विश्वास व्यक्त गरेका छन्। उनले नाटो सदस्य राष्ट्रहरूले आफ्नो आकाशमा प्रवेश गर्ने रूसी विमानलाई खसाल्नुपर्ने धारणा पनि सार्वजनिक गर्दै मॉस्कोविरुद्ध कठोर स्वर अपनाएका छन्।
ट्रम्पले Truth Social मा लेख्दै युरोपेली सहयोगले युक्रेनले आफ्नो मूल सीमा पुनःस्थापना गर्न सक्ने बताए। उनले रुसलाई “पेपर टाइगर” (कमजोर देखिने बलवान) को संज्ञा दिँदै युद्धले मॉस्कोको अर्थतन्त्रलाई ठूलो चोट पुर्याएको दाबी गरे।
युक्रेनी राष्ट्रपति भोलोडिमिर जेलेन्स्कीले ट्रम्पको भनाइलाई “ठूलो मोड” भन्दै “गेम चेन्जर” को संज्ञा दिए।
तर अमेरिकी विदेशमन्त्री मार्को रुबियो भने युद्ध अन्ततः वार्तामार्फत मात्र टुंगिने बताएका छन्। उनले सैन्य समाधान सम्भव नभएको जिकिर गर्दै शान्तिपूर्ण अन्त्यमा जोड दिए।
हालै रुसका विमान र ड्रोनहरू पोल्याण्ड, एस्टोनिया लगायत नाटो देशहरूको आकाशमा प्रवेश गरेपछि युरोपेली मुलुकहरू चर्को प्रतिक्रियामा उत्रिएका छन्। नाटो प्रमुख मार्क रुट्टेले भने कुनै विमान खसाल्ने निर्णय तत्कालीन खतरा र उद्देश्यको मूल्याङ्कन गरेर मात्र गरिनुपर्ने बताएका छन्।
ट्रम्पले भने स्पष्ट सर्त नराखी “नाटो बलियो छ” भन्दै परिस्थितिअनुसार कदम चाल्ने संकेत दिएका छन्।
